Arrivals Checklist

  • Check in at reception
  • Make your way to your allocated camp site.
  • You will probably have to reverse into your spot, so I hope you have done your reversing practice.
  • Position your caravan on the pitch, using a ramp under the wheel(s) on one side if it needs levelling
  • Apply your caravan handbrake
  • Release the load leveller if you have one
  • Chock the caravan wheels if you are on a slope
  • Lower the jockey wheel and lock it in position
  • Disconnect the electrical plug(s) and breakaway cable
  • Pull up the hitch-head lever and use the jockey wheel to raise the caravan hitch from the tow ball
  • Drive your car away
  • Replace the cover on your car’s tow ball
  • Adjust the level of your caravan front and rear with the jockey wheel
  • Lower the corner steadies
  • Connect the mains power cable to the caravan and on to the hook-up point, checking the residual current device (RCD) is working correctly
  • Turn on the gas
  • Turn on the fridge  (to local power or gas)
  • Connect fresh water
  • Connect the waste water hose
  • Add toilet fluids
  • Install TV. Set antenna or attach co-axial cable if available tune in channels
  • Remove travel packing & Install microwave dish
  • Set awning and attach anti flappers or de flapper kit.
  • Set up satellite TV (if you have it)
  • Enjoy a beer
